Research Description

Socioeconomic Status and Clinical and Experimental Pain Responses in Knee OA
The aim of this research project will be to determine the extent to which socioeconomic status (SES) is associated with clinical pain and with sensitivity to induced experimental pain in older African Americans and non-Hispanic whites with knee osteoarthritis. We hypothesize that low SES will be associated with greater clinical pain and functional limitations, as well as higher sensitivity to experimentally-induced pain.
