Research Description

Dynamic Fracture Response of Composite Silicon Carbide Tubes
Using testing methods like the Charpy impact hammer and split Hopkinson pressure bars I apply high strain rates, or dynamic loads, to composite silicon carbide tubes to measure the fracture toughness and dynamic strength.
