"As an undergraduate interested pursuing a career in the healthcare field, I was interested to know different aspects of medicine, including the academic research behind it. I also wanted to experience volunteering in a research lab dedicated to Type I Diabetes and further develop my problem-solving skills and lab techniques. Becoming a part of research at the University of Florida has been an enriching and wonderful experience."

Research Description

Optimization of Nanoparticles
Under Dr. Brusko’s mentorship and the supervision of graduate student Judit Cserny, I will study the optimization of nanoparticles. These nanoparticles could be potentially used in a vaccine to support T regulatory cells that could restore normal immunity in patients with Type 1 Diabetes.
