"I have always been very interested in mental health disorders, and I think they should be treated and researched just as well as conditions such as cancer and diabetes. I was very excited when I found out about an opportunity to do my own research project in mental health. I hope that my research can help contribute towards improved treatment of mental health disorders."

Research Description

Understanding Social Networks among Rural Latino Adolescents
I will be doing an in-depth literature review and secondary-data analysis using data from a larger research study which used Community Engagement Research principles and interviews with rural adolescent Latinos of Levy County. I aim to describe evidence on social network systems and how social networks relate to mental health among rural Latino adolescents.
