Research Description

Functionality in Glass and Clay

My research proposal focuses on the amalgamation of the materials of clay and glass to create functional vessels. My interest in working with glass, a lustrous gem-like material, and combining it with an earth-born material, synthesizes duality into one form. I seek to layer and fuse the materials on top of one another whilst considering color throughout. My goal is to make art that is not only functional but sustainable and references nature. I aspire to create functional works in clay and glass that possess vibrant artistry and invoke emotions in those around me.
