"I wanted to get involved in research because I loved learning about projects and endeavors going on in my field and I wanted to dive in to the action. With the fast-pace growth of technology and innovation, communication efforts have so many more different execution methods to produce meaningful results. I was especially interested in learning how technology and social media could be used to create positive social change."

Research Description

Activism in a Digital Age
Can hashtags be used to inspire change? Is there a way social media can inspire a movement? My research explores how digital activism can be used to inspire social change-- and ways in which it may attempt to do good, could have no result or even a negative switch.
