Research Description

Delirium in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The aim of the project is to create an autonomous system capable of detecting delirium and classifying it into the appropriate motor subtype. The system would also track patients’ emotions, pain levels, and sleep quality. The system would integrate currently available electronic health record (EHR) data with facial tracking data from a video camera, and motion data from several accelerometers. Non delirious subjects as defined by the Confusion Assessment Method (CAM) will be continuously monitored for 3 days, while patients defined as delirious will be monitored for up to 7 days.
