Tuberculosis Hip1 Protein
Rv2224c, or Hip 1 is a predicted protease that is critical in the virulence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). The objective of my research in Dr. Dunn's lab is to determine the crystal structure of Hip 1 hoping to better understand the structure and function of the enzyme with the ultimate goal of designing inhibitors of Hip 1 that may serve as tuberculosis therapeutics.
